Dear All,

We would like to invite you on a journey during which we will explore the theory of Melanie Klein, an eminent psychoanalyst associated with the British Psychoanalytical Society. While Freud saw the child in the adult, Klein saw the infant in the adult, focusing in her work on very early experiences that influence an individual's functioning. Working with children, she developed psychoanalytic theory and introduced new concepts that enabled, and still enable, a deeper understanding of the functioning of the human mind. She inspired subsequent generations of psychoanalysts and specialists involved in therapeutic work with both children and adults.

During our meetings, we will have the opportunity to learn about the basic concepts and dynamics of the inner world proposed by Klein. This is a unique opportunity, as the lectures have been prepared for us by leading and distinguished psychoanalysts from the British Psychoanalytical Society.

We plan to run courses in three language groups: English, Polish, and Russian, led by Katarzyna, Paweł, and Helena, respectively. The Polish-language group will meet at the PTPa headquarters, while the Russian- and English-language groups will meet online.

Each lecture will be discussed together with the candidate and a psychoanalyst from the Polish Psychoanalytical Society. Afterwards, we will work together to explore the material prepared by the participants (this may include a transcript from memory of an interview conducted during an internship and/or at work, or a description of a film, literary work, or piece of art) discussed in each lecture. We will consider how and where Klein’s theses and ideas are reflected in what we experience during our internships, in our work, and in our encounters with art, and how they can help us understand ourselves and the world around us more deeply.

If you are interested in the dynamics of the inner world, you will not want to miss this series of lectures and workshops.

We warmly invite you to join us!
